Summer 2023 is all about those “Forever pieces, expertly executed.” British Vogue 2023
Now that sustainability is evermore important and the terrible effects of fast fashion are becoming more and more evident, the time has come for those "forever pieces". Clothing that is made with the purpose of longevity and designs that are classic, holding their own style that is not affected by change. This brings forward a better approach to purchasing by consumers, quality over quantity, and encourages brands themselves to act more consciously.
"Forever pieces" at Araiá Paradis
Araiá Paradis, 'we are establishing ourselves in the market, our focus has been on creating timeless and elegant yet effortless garments. The idea is that one can style the clothing how they like, whether more casual or formal, making versatility a key aspect. With this in mind, someone can use this silk garment on several occasions, whilst the garment naturally sustains its luxurious essence'.
Asymmetrical Cut
"Exposed thighs on the one hand (leg?) and draped knees on the other." British Vogue 2023
"A skirt style that's made for movement" British Vogue 2023
A skirt with an asymmetric hem creates a beautiful look without moving; no wind or movement is needed; it just falls perfectly all because of the asymmetric cut.
Various articles have mentioned ruffles being a trend for 2023 but also mention they have been a trend for many years, always coming back. Ruffles are a beautiful feature as they can be expressed on clothing in so many different ways, more subtly appearing or dominating the entire outfit. They can add that missing ingredient to a piece of clothing. We incorporated subtle ruffles on our Blush Rose blouse and Dolce Vita blouse. We felt the ruffles add more femininity to the entire look combined with the bell-cut sleeves.
